Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium

Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium

The Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium, entitled “Breast Cancer: Prevention before Therapy,” was organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy at Qaiwan International University on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., as part of the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities in October.

This scientific and awareness-focused event highlighted the critical importance of early prevention, screening, and community education in reducing the burden of breast cancer. The symposium was attended by a large number of faculty members, university staff, students, and representatives from various media channels.

During the event, several physicians and healthcare specialists delivered informative presentations addressing risk factors, early detection strategies, screening recommendations, and the role of healthcare professionals—particularly pharmacists—in promoting preventive care and patient counseling.

A particularly impactful moment of the symposium was the testimony of a breast cancer survivor, who courageously shared her personal journey of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Her story of resilience and determination provided inspiration and reinforced the message that early detection and timely intervention can significantly improve outcomes.

Through this initiative, the Faculty of Pharmacy reaffirmed its commitment to advancing public health awareness, strengthening preventive healthcare education, and fostering community engagement in the fight against breast cancer.
